Hasan Baran Kurtoğlu's first solo exhibition, 'The Narrative of the Thing', meets the audience in the new venue of Gallery Muaf. The exhibition, which consists of paintings by the artist on canvas, will be held between November 5 and December 3, 2021, hosted by Istanbul Literature House. The artist's works, with their blurred, fragmented and layered states, are combined with an effort to make sense that seems to be insignificant in the memory and triggers some moments. It examines the state of being trivial, mundane, storyless as opposed to grand narratives. It focuses on what is remembered in the "now", away from the simplicity of the past in memory. In The Narrative of the Thing, the artist calls for an escape from the definite and clear, to reality and sensual reminiscences with his memories. This pool of pieces, which avoid a definite statement, brings with it countless blurred fictions.
